Export contacts

You can export Whispir contacts – including active contacts – to a .CSV file from any workspaces that you have access. The function includes the option to specify which contact data fields you want to include in the export. (The procedure is largely identical to running the Contacts report. See Run the Contact report.)

Note: If you have contacts who use Whispir’s pushie app or any of our other smartphone apps, each app is registered against a contact’s Whispir contact profile. Be aware that when you export contacts from Whispir each registered app will appear in the exported file as a unique line item. The total number of line items will therefore be greater than the number of contacts in the workspaces you’re exporting from.

Steps

  1. Ensure that the required workspace is on the Workspace toolbar.
  2. Hover over the workspace to view the Workspace menu.
  3. Under Contact Management click Export Contact. (If you can’t see it, click More to view more commands.)
    The Report Details page opens and the Contact Report is automatically selected in the Report field.
  4. In the Select Workspaces field select one or more workspaces.
    (Press and hold the CTRL key to select multiple separate entries, or press and hold the SHIFT key to select a block of entries.)
  5. Clear the Include My Company check box if you don't want to include the contacts in the default My Company workspace.
  6. In the Available Fields pane select the contact data fields you want to export and click Add To List to add them to the Selected Fields pane on the right.

  7. To remove fields from the right pane select them and click Remove From List.
  8. Click Export.
  9. Follow your browser’s prompts to open or save the file. (The process can vary from browser to browser.)
